Lemon Thai Cuisine (Somerville, MA); Pad Thai Cafe (Boston, MA)

I have a wonderful discovery of mine: El Taco Loco Restaurant. Far better Thai than Wonder Spice Cafe and almost as good as East Asia!
Set in the former location of several short-lived Mexican restaurants, this Thai place seems to be having more success there but has remained relatively empty on my dozens of visits. The atmosphere is nice; the prices, reasonable; the food, outstanding....

(Posted by Paul, Jamaica Plain, MA)

El Taco Loco, Leominster, MA

I have a wonderful discovery of mine: El Taco Loco Restaurant. This is a wonderful little hole in the wall, which is run and operated by a lovely family from Mexico. The food is VERY authentic, and VERY good. Our waitress was their 12-year old daughter - which added a very lovely and somewhat homey feel to our experience. I had their enchilada with red sauce - which was done in a very unusual (to me) way, but was also very delicious at the same time....

(Posted by Michael Arnold, Lincoln, MA)

Great breakfast here, the food always seems good, probably my favorite...has a very warm atmosphere, sort of fancy interior but reasonable prices in my mind, motherly waitresses...

(Posted by Dave S., Danvers, MA)

Cafe Christina, Pembroke, MA

Cafe Christina's - Pembroke on Rte 53 just past Rte 139 and Rte 14. Absolutely a true hidden jewel!! Food is to die for and waitstaff is the best bar none. Even their busboys are courteous and friendly. I happened upon them on their opening night a few years ago and have been a steady customer ever since. I give out their gift certificates as gifts and each person has been a repeat customer. Price above average here but in terms of value for your dollar there is no contest.

(Posted by Jim D, Marshfield, MA)

Blue Pointe Bistro, Weymouth, MA

Blue Pointe Bistro in Weymouth, MA is fantastic. The atmosphere is great, and the place is clean. The staff is always polite, which can't be said about all places. The food selection for a place this small is good. The portions are not your typical bistro...but don't fill up, because the chocolate cake with a kahlua cream mousse...is a definite must have.

(Posted by DC, Weymouth, MA)

Leslie's Retreat, Salem, MA

Leslie's Place (based on some actual history) is a throwback to the 1970s - the decor and the prices reflect this. The service is excellent, the drinks are strong and cheap, and the specials are actually made in the restaurant - no Aramark or other service delivering frozen things - and there are tasty new specials everyday. The best thing about Leslie's is the atmosphere - it is a local joint with a local crowd.

(Posted by MKM, Salem, MA)

Pacific Restaurant, Roxbury, MA

Pacific Restaurant is a great Chinese restaurant in the South End / Roxbury. They serve dim sum as well as authentic Chinese food for lunch and dinner. It's as good as anything you'll find in Chinatown but without the hassle of trying to park. They have a 5-story parking garage that's free to park in and I never have trouble finding a spot. The food is excellent!

(Posted by MY, Billerica, MA)

Lucky's Lounge, Boston, MA

Lucky's Lounge, 355 Congress St. (corner of A Street) South Boston. The Fort Point Channel area languished during the Big Dig years, but new courthouse, the ICA, and the Convention Center have made the area trendy, bringing hip new eating spots. Amid all the change, one constant remains: Lucky's Lounge. It has no sign, and it doesn't need one. At lunchtime it's crowded with...

(Posted by Victor Curran)

I totally concur with the review just read on Gennaro's Eatery in Quincy. It is great! Periodically, the chef/owner will have as a special on the menu: Chicken Piccata with Portobella Mushroom Ravioli... OH MY WORD!
