I love Salvation Cafe (on Broadway). Funky surroundings, pleasant staff, great, personal menu.
Also, just went to Scales and Shells for first time, great oytsers, icy cold martini, fantastic linguine alla vongole and woodgrilled lobster, chalkboard menu -- fresh, fresh, fresh.

I second the Salvation Cafe, great food at excellent prices in a fun atmosphere.
The Mooring has good food and a terrific view if you sit by the water. Also, apps for dinner at the bar is a cheap way to have a tasty dinner.
Also, brunch at Castle Hill is worth the splurge; truly excellent food served at a leisurely pace and an awesome view.

Perro Salado is the awesome!
After that, with the closing of Fifth Element, I'm left with Peurini's, Sardella's, Salvation Cafe, Red Parrot, The Mooring, Scales and Shells.
Also missing Mudville...will it be back?
