Stuck close to home - we were lazy and busy at the end of the week. Didn't cook much. On Thursday we got take-out from Zocalo - they have a new menu - they have tacos now and some other new dishes. I got fish tacos and John got a Chicken Mole Burrito (which he always gets). Both very good. Friday we went to Punjab as my daughter had never been. Reliable and good. Saturday - take-out from Little Q Hot Pot in Arlington (Q Restaurant's little sibling) - still think it's super good - their dumplings are outstanding.
Elisabeth's in Fairhaven. Good fresh local seafood with an urban twist. Both meals made us happy, and the dessert was tasty (a slice of cake so large we had to split it.)
Spent 7 hours at Alden & Harlow yesterday. Then I think pinocchio's was probably involved.
Itadaki on Newbury St. - absolutely wonderful!
McDonald's, in Falmouth, MA....Filet O Fish was delicious but my fries were cold. We did, however, eat at the Harbor so the atmosphere was fabulous!!
Captain parkers in yarmouth
Alma Nove. Always spectacular.
Milly's in Mt. Tremblant, Quebec, Bridge Cafe in Manchester, and now off to our little Penny Cluse Cafe in Burlington, VT
No restaurants, exactly. But Black Sheep Barbecue, a food truck from Wyoming, RI catered our wedding this weekend. Everyone seemed to agree it was the best BBQ they'd tasted.
I finally made it to Vecchia Roma! Less than a mile from my home and it has taken me almost 4 years to get there! It was worth the wait. Wonderful food. The chef/owner is wonderful and makes you feel like you are in his home. The food was fantastic, too bad I couldn't finish mine. Next time no salad or pasta, I'll skip right to the tiramisu.
Went to AKA Bistro on Friday for their "Restaurant Week" lunch. An excellent meal, as usual.
Beat Hotel :)
Went to @AldenHarlow with folks who hadn't been. Exceeded high expectations. Best food and value in Harvard Square by far.
First time at @BostoniaPublic, @EllumBarBoston, & @AtwoodsTvrn! Loved them all.
Trattoria di Monica in the North End (yummy as always)
Parker Pie Co. West Glover,VT great local brews and creative pizzas.

Greek Corner in North Cambridge - tzatziki rules!
Brought the family out to Sichuan Garden II at The Baldwin, where Ran mixed wonderful libations and also took care of us by making some excellent food recommendations. At one point, everyone, except for the 5-month old, was sipping on brown cocktails; the family that drinks together...
Joli D. S.
Matt Murphy's Pub in Brookline
The Cottage in Lake Placid for lunch. (Thanks for the rec) Great view from the deck, despite it feeling more like autumn than August. Port Henry Diner in Port Henry, NY. Very bare bones but nice folks and decent food.
Union Fish-Hingham, New World TAvern- Plymouth, Kagawa- Quincy,
Flavours (Indian), Cumberland, RI. Worth it for the tamarind margarita! Very enjoyable dinner.
Enjoyed the Lobster Pool, at the north end of Rockport, right on Rt. 127.
Lincoln in Southie. Better than I expected.
Boston Chops -- finally got to go on Friday. An over-the-top, cholesterol extravaganza.
This wknd was a food extravaganza- @HOPSNSCOTCHBAR @RibelleBKline, B&G Oysters, Theo's Cozy Kitchen

The Big Catch in Bristol NH
THUR, tried the new Vico Ristorante in Norwood (thumbs-down); FRI had drinks on the rooftop at Bar Louie at Patriot Place and dinner at Toby Keith's (while waiting-out the 1D concert that my buddy's daughter was attending), and SAT had great burgers at the always reliable Halfway Cafe (Dedham).
Tip Tap. Love that place and I Yit Ho in Peabody for delicious Chinese takeout.
JT Farnum's but I think I'm still in the Woodman's camp. Will have to do another taste test. Takeout from Comella's Sunday night. A fab lunch at Sam's at Louis.
Estelle's in South End. It was terrible. So disappointing after seeing it won "Best of Boston: Southern Food". Also, Kirkland Tap and Trotter. Always solid. Oh yeah, late night burgers at Charlie's Kitchen. It is what it is
75 Chesnut & Liquid Art House
Cheesecake Factory in Burlington.
Capt's Waterfront Bar and Grill in Salem, MA. Great customer service and yummy food!

I was at Daily Catch Sunday evening. The calamari pasta with olive oil and garlic clam sauce was wonderful. The clam chowder was a huge failure, tasteless. We had planned on dropping on the Barking Crab, but besides the wait, having the host checking his phone for texts while "helping" us was a sign to leave.
We took a visitor from Indiana to Rabia's in the North End for her very first taste of lobster - they knocked it out of the park. Service, quality, composition, were all 5 stars.

Belle Isle Seafood in Winthrop, Dok Bua in Brookline, KO Pies in East Boston, Dorado in Brookline, Pho Lemongrass in Brookline and Strip Ts in Watertown (been a busy week)
Had a surprisingly tasty lunch at the Garden restaurant at the Peabody Essex Museum. (Their food service is run by the Hawthorne Hotel, which has never impressed me with their food) Also drinks only at the Landing at Salem Ferry. Fun off the beaten path seasonal outdoor bar on the water.

Stoney's pub & pizza - Middleboro (great bar pies). We also checked out Frates Drive-In, in Taunton, but I was unimpressed. Food and ice cream was overpriced for what it was.

State Park - the fried chicken deserves it's buzz!
Cabots. Old stand by
Mt Vernon in East Somerville! Twin lobsters Yum!

Tres Gatos in JP, La Brasa in Somerville, Pho 29 in Canton.
Were in NY/NJ for the weekend and hit up a murderers' row of excellent spots. Brooklyn Fare was an incredible experience, as was Cucharamama in Hoboken (a Latin/South American brunch so good, it made our Colombian/Ecuadoran friend almost cry). Great cocktails at Booker & Dax and Clover Club, too.
Had a takeout from 3 Country Bistro in Woburn per your recommendation. The Indonesian fried rice was pretty good (this is coming from an Indonesian).

I went to the Cape Cod Buffet, not the finest place but I SO love me my chinese buffets!!!!
Johnny D's in Davis, Boat Slip in Harvard and the always impressive Regatta Deli in Worcester.
I went to the Clam Box and had a "Big Box of Big Bellies" (guilty pleasure). This was after canoeing at Mass Audubon's Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary (awesome) and then followed by a long beach walk at Crane Beach. It was a great way to spend my birthday with my family. :-)
Then on Sunday, Smokestack Urban Barbeque for Smoked Wings (after some hiking up in Petersham)

Not the weekend - but played hookey and went to Good Harbor beach. Afterwards we went to JT Farnham's in Essex. Among us we got 3 lobster rolls - pretty good; chowders - I liked it, it's the thinner consistency, my son prefers it thicker; three fried platters - but no clams (!); a salad with salmon; and a boiled lobster. All good. Love looking at the salt marsh out the back window. Good view of the Osprey nest where the Essex Osprey cam films.
Sun and Surf, York ME. The haddock sandwich was good but u can't beat location, right on Long Sands Beach, views -- better! :)

Lime Rickey's at Devereux Beach on Friday night, food is decent, prices aren't cheap, but it's the only beach shack in the area. Saturday night dinner on the patio at Jack Tar in Marblehead. No view, but nice to sit outside on a summer night. Steak tip salad was tasty and their homemade potato chips with blue cheese and bacon are awesome. Sunday lunch at The Deck in Salisbury, which used to be the old Fish Tale diner. Great lunch, fun view and they had GF bread for my lobster roll. However, one of our companions was horrified that the Leinenkugel's Summer Shandys were $7 a pop. The other drinks were more reasonable priced.

Far Land at The Beach (the Far Land Provisions outpost at Herring Cove Beach at Cape Cod National Seashore). Who needs fried clams when you can have ahi tuna sliders?
Hen of the Wood in Waterbury, VT. Yum.

The Feisty Greek in Norwood. It was great.

Gaslight Brasserie du Coin, South End
Waterline, Wharf District
Daily Catch North End.
Lucas Confectionery in Troy. Amazing place.
Little Q Hotpot with the family (because it's delicious and satisfies all dietary needs), Sorrento's for Pizza and salad before the pool, and if sitting on a bench eating ice cream counts Bedford Farms in Concord. p.s. they have something called a Root Beer freeze - Root Beer float meets frappe. #dangerous
Surf 6 at Old Orchard Beach ME, tasty but small scallops, lobster roll was pretty small too
We ate at the International House of Pancakes. My boys raved over the french fries. http://www.clockworkpizza.com we also tested out a new pizza place. They were great!

The Port in Harwich Port; $1 oysters, incredible 'spicy mussels' and the martinis were pretty damned good too.
Was totally and pleasantly surprised by Tavern on the Square in Burlington.
Yesterday we were at Red Bones Somerville and for our surprise it was empty! And we had incredible nachos, good ribs, yummy pull pork, excellent service, delicious pecan pie and free coffee....!!!
