Reader Reviews of the Causeway Restaurant, Gloucester, MA

Got the name of this place from a local on a dock. In his words, Trust me. Pulled into the parking lot and almost pulled right back out. Not much to look at but we trusted the local. Our reward was the most fabulous fish dinner we've ever had. Tender, delicious baked haddock - an inch thick and so big it was hanging out over the sides of the plate. We felt like we discovered a hidden treasure!!

(Posted by MDR from Lewistown, PA, in Massachusetts Restaurants section)

Reader Reviews of the Riverview Cafe, Brattleboro, VT

This is a lovely restaurant with great food. We especially like the angus burger and caesar salad. The onion rings are a bit greasy but worth it! And you absolutely must try the cheddar-ale soup. The interior dining is relaxing and you must try their outdoor tables as well when the weather is nice.

(Posted by DH from Deerfield, MA, in Vermont Restaurants section)

Well worth the trip from Boston. Sit-down restaurant and take-away service are both terrific. Do not think about visiting without ordering clam cakes. Lobster roll and sandwich are great and homemade pies round it out. Great summer shack.

(Posted by DJK from Boston, MA, in Rhode Island Restaurants section)

Reader Reviews of Angelico's Lake House Restaurant, East Hampton, CT

If I were a newspaper reporter, I would start my headline as: Angelico's Lakehouse Restaurant puts East Hampton on the fine dining circuit. Having watched the restaurant over the years overcome the tremendous growing pains that all successful businesses need to address to grow, grow it has, from an excellent and varied menu to an outdoor Tiki bar with live music second to none, weather permitting...

(Posted by Joe C. from Kensington, CT, in Connecticut Restaurants section)

Place looked promising right next to the water. Had 3 seafood dishes amongst us, shrimp, scallops, and haddock. Food was VERY average at best, maybe okay if you are used to boxed or frozen seafood, but not a good example of Maine.
I love this place. Where can you get a great footlong hot dog with the works and a cold beer for $5.00! I just tried their hot buttered lobster roll dinner for $16.95 and it was wonderful. They have been in business for 31 years. They have no street exposure and yet at lunch they have a line of people out the door. They are now open evenings and I must mention that they are big Miami Dolphin fans, but they let Pats fans in.

(Posted by Dan from West Hartford, CT, in Connecticut Restaurants section)

Not worth the money. The bread was too tough to tear. Yes, the view is great (if you have a seat that allows you to see it), but the food is overpriced.
With the tough economy out there, Wright's Farm Restaurant is looking better and better everyday. Not only do they offer an incredibly good value for the customer, but also deliver on what counts - the quality of the food (and quantity, too!).
Reader Reviews of the Pleasant Cafe, Roslindale, MA

The Pleasant is a casual Italian restaurant that I have been going to for years. The pizza is the best in all of Boston - thin crust, homemade dough and sauce - simply put - AMAZING. You cannot go wrong. But try their Seafood, Prime Rib and Chicken Parm. You will not be disappointed.

(Posted by Beth from Roslindale, MA, in Massachusetts Restaurants section)

Reader Reviews of Court House Seafood, Cambridge, MA

Very fresh fish; I cannot stop ordering the fried sole but I have had other things such as the oysters. I cannot stand the chowders. Everything else I have tried is superb. It is hard to find fresh fish at cheap prices in Boston so I am so thankful this place is around. Please give it some publicity if you like it!

(Posted by Margaret from Allston, MA, in Massachusetts Restaurants section)

Reader Reviews of Wright's Farm Restaurant, Harrisville, RI

Wonderful family tradition - every year we hit the apple orchards of northern RI and then head to Wrights Farm. Great family style food, inexpensive, and can always accommodate for large family seating. Highly recommended!

(Posted by The White Family from Rehoboth, MA, in Rhode Island Restaurants section)

Reader Reviews of Pier 77 Restaurant, Cape Porpoise, ME

I haven't actually been to the Pier 77, but to its much more quirky sibling, The Ramp, downstairs. You can get the same incredible food as the more elegant Pier 77 upstairs, but in a tiny little bar area with a great view, filled with the locals, and a wonderfully eccentric atmosphere to boot! I had the standard Maine fare of a lobster roll and their onion strings on the side. The onions were amazing as was their homemade smoked tomato ketchup. We also had great appetizers and shared a wonderful chocolate dessert (it was a year ago so I can't remember the details). When I go back to Kennebunkport, this is going to be my hangout.

(Posted by Betsy from Derry, NH, in Maine Restaurants section)

Reader Reviews of Jacks Grill, Housatonic, MA

I always try to eat at Jack's when I'm in the Berkshires. It's very friendly and relaxed, the menu is varied but simple, and the prices are right. It's just the unpretentious restaurant I like.

(Posted by CSH from New York City in Massachusetts Restaurants section)
