HTML Web-Safe Colors

The chart below shows 216 colors that can be used safely for your HTML or XHTML pages. The colors are labeled in hexadecimal notation; in most cases, it is best to use these hex codes rather than color names. Exceptions include 16 colors that, according to W3C standards, can be used. Jump to our Valid Color Names in HTML and CSS page to find the names of these colors. NOTE: If you can't read the hex codes for some of the darker colors, use your mouse or touchpad to drag across the color; that will highlight the code, allowing you to read it.
