Melting Pot
213 Burlington Road
Bedford, MA 01730
Phone: (781) 791-0529

The Melting Pot is a great fondue restaurant. While it is a national chain, a lot of people don't know that there is one in Bedford. It's about a mile down the street from the Burlington Mall. The Melting Pot is fun and interactive, and they have a really great wine list. Definitely a hidden gem out here in the suburbs.

La Siesta
70 Woodside Avenue
Winthrop, MA 02152
Phone: (617) 846-2300

I would like to suggest you check out La Siesta, a Mexican restaurant located on Woodside Ave in Winthrop. It has been open a little over a year; it is a family-run business with the owner's childhood friends from Mexico whipping up their mother's specialties from back home (the back of the menu contains the gems). They make their own salsa and guacamole of course and it's a BYOB. I overheard someone who was from California say that it was the best Mexican food they've had on the east coast thus far. The staff is extremely friendly and the owner drops by to each table to make sure everything is OK. Ten tables or so and they're planning expansion soon.

Vienna Restaurant and Inn
14 South Street
Southbridge, MA 01550
Phone: (508) 764-0700

NOTE: This review appears to have been written by the owner of the Vienna Restaurant and Inn. We will leave it up, but please realize that this is not a review by a diner.
A little Austrian and European restaurant just down the road from the Publick House in Sturbridge area. This restaurant also has beautiful and spacious guestrooms for out-of-town guests. I noticed you don't have any restaurants that are German or Austrian OR European. Thought this might be a nice addition to your cuisines.

Highland Kitchen
150 Highland Avenue
Somerville, MA 02143
Phone: (617) 625-1131

Outstanding atmosphere, food, drink, and service--and reasonably priced! As long-time residents of Winter Hill, we are psyched that the Highland Kitchen has opened its doors at the corner of Highland Avenue and Central Street.
It's a great open space for casual dining or having a drink with friends--comfortable, warm, funky, yet functional. The menu is a single page (front and back) with plenty of options to choose from (including vegetarian). Soups, salads, apps, sandwiches, entrees, and sides. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meals--mussels and deviled eggs for apps; cobb salad, Texas-style chili, couscous with winter veggies, and the Cuban reuben pressed sandwich for entrees; apple crisp and banana bread pudding for dessert. Excellent selection of cocktails and beers on tap. The service was exceptional--the waitstaff were able to answer all of our questions and made us feel welcome. We wish Mark and Marci tremendous success with their new venture.
The neighborhood needs an establishment like the Highland Kitchen. The Arts at the Armory and Green Line will be welcome additions as well. Head over to the Kitchen, enjoy the food and experience, and support a local business!

A restaurant that you could try is Bangkok Cafe in Roslindale. It is off the beaten path and difficult to find, but it is definitely a hidden tasty Thai restaurant. It is located on Poplar Street, #25. Bangkok Cafe features Thai cuisine with an emphasis on healthy, fresh, and flavorful ingredients. A number of Bangkok Cafe's dishes have recently been qualified by the Boston Health Department's program "Boston BestBites" that encourages restaurants to add nutritious menu options to promote a healthier lifestyle to diners.

Olive Garden
401 Technology Center Drive
Stoughton, MA 02072
Phone: (781) 297-5110

I have a favorite restaurant. It is hidden away on the Stoughton/Randolph line. The cuisine is Italian and offers a wide selection of delicious dishes and wines. The ambiance is wonderful, set with Italian music playing throughout. The waiters and waitresses are attentive and courteous. Prices are also very reasonable. A great place to go for a girls' night out or a quiet dinner date. This hidden treasure is called "Olive Garden!" ;)
