Best place in town and within 30 mile radius. We have a cabin not far from Ludlow and make this restaurant our first eat-out place every time we're up in Vt. The food, service and ambiance are all very good at an excellent price. The best seats are at the bar. My favorite meal: Pasta Pink while Mark's is Veal Parm. The NY strip steak is also excellent. But I haven't had any dish I didn't enjoy. It's truly a wonderful place and our favorite restaurant in the entire state of Vt.

Our family has visited this restaurant on several occasions. It has a charming feel to it, sort of Victorian and elegant. Our two children have always enjoyed any of the pasta dishes. On our most recent visit, my husband loved the Pasta Pink and I enjoyed the Pecan Boursin Chicken. My brother said it was a hard choice between the Pasta Pink and the NY Strip to name his favorite. The service was very friendly and attentive, even though our visit was on a busy Saturday night.

*****C Kelly from Maryland says:
Sort of disappointing. The dining room is actually an enclosed side porch on the house. It was chilly even with a small stove running, and decorated in pink and floral. I felt like I was in someone's bedroom. There were only 4 tables of patrons and we were all seated next to each other although an entire side of the dining room wasn't being used. It would have been nice to have more privacy. The service was good. Food? A 3, maybe a 4 depending on the dish. The caesar salad was a total disappointment. The dressing very sour and could have been bottled. No shaved cheese or croutons. Definitely not worth the extra $$. The hubby had the house salad with balsamic and said it was good. The Pasta Bella Dawna appetizer was good. I had Pasta Carbonara with shrimp. I guess I'm used to the smoky taste of bacon and I couldn't taste the pancetta or shallots in this dish. Hubby had Pasta with Shrimp, which I tried. It was very tasty. All in all a disappointing meal for me. Possibly the worst carbonara I've ever had. We won't rush back. (January 2009.)
