The barbecued meats are excellent, but what impressed me was the quality of the side dishes. The cornbread is moist and springy and the potato salad tasted as good as our family's recipe. Definitely a place to wear your jeans and do some serious eating. If it were closer, I'd be there at least once a week.

Service was quick, portions great. The BBQ job itself was very good - great bark on the ribs, smoke ring, decent brisket, but there was no discernable rub or flavoring. I would love a place that had great flavoring of the brisket. You can add your choice of sauce yourself, but I have had good BBQ w/rub before, and although this made it texture-wise, it didn't come off as outstanding, and not worth a second trip in my opinion.

For years, my wife and I passed Goody Cole's and said "we need to try that place some time". 3 years ago we finally stopped to check it out. What we found was one of the best meals, at any price, we'd ever had. The brisket is incredible and the ribs, chicken, and pulled pork stand up to any bbq we've ever had. Best value is the 3 meat combo (ribs, brisket, and chicken are my personal choice) with 2 sides and corn bread. Chili with chunks of smoked brisket is another great choice. If you've ever passed Goody's and thought "we should try that place", give it a try. If you just like bbq, it's certainly worth the trip.

Goody Cole's is one of the food vendors for Kingston Days each summer, and the food has always been great. So, a few weekends back, we stopped into the restaurant to see the source. It was better than I remembered. The brisket and the smoked turkey were fantastic - surprisingly tender. The beans were spicy and delicious. We weren't all that thrilled with the mac-n-cheese, but everything else was well-nigh perfect. Going back soon for the Fritos pie, and some brisket chili. Note: We split a combo plate, and there was plenty for two.

The best little barbeque shack northeast of the Mississippi! None in the area compare!

The food here is phenomenal. The ribs are fall of the bone and you must try the brisket. Not to mention the cornbread and all the delicious side salads and oooooh the dessert. A stop at Goody Coles is a must must!
