Favorite Place for Banh Mi?

(From Our Questions and Answers Feature)

Where do people like to go for banh mi (Vietnamese sandwiches)? It sounds like several Vietnamese restaurants in Dorchester have a good version of banh mi, as well as at least a couple of places in Chinatown. Any spots in particular in the Boston area that make a good one? [Go here to post a reply.]

Many worthy ones, but my favorite remains Pho Viet in the food court of the Allston Super 88. Also fine: King Do Baguette, Mei Sum Bakery, 163 Vietnamese Sandwich, and Ba Le Bakery.

Try the Saigon Sub at Hi Rise on Brattle St. Housemade pate, pickles on amazing baguette rolls. Everything is made at Hi Rise! Really delicious!

163 Vietnam Sandwich on the corner of Beach and Harrison. Shredded Pork, Beef and a handful of vegetarian options as well as "cold cuts." This is new to Chinatown and better than anything else there - except for Lu's on a good day...maybe.
