How Are the Hot Dogs at Tom's in Whately?

RSS button (From Our Questions and Answers Feature)

I was traveling through the Pioneer Valley and the Berkshires over the past few days, and ALMOST got to a roadside food joint called Tom's in Whately. It was about midway between Route 2 and the Mass. Pike, though, so as it turns out, Tom's was a bit too far out of the way for me. Has anyone been to this place? How are the hot dogs there? Is Tom's worth checking out whenever I'm in the Berkshires or the Pioneer Valley again? [Go here to post a reply.]

I'll answer my own question here, as a friend of mine and I went to Tom's yesterday. The hot dog abd burger were both fairly basic, though tasty enough, and the fries were excellent with lots of salt and seasonings. Initially, I was happy to see that there was a tent out back where we could eat outside, and out of the sun, but it turned out that there were so many little flies under the tent that it made the dining experience a pretty miserable one.
I'll write more about Tom's in our blog over the coming days...
