(From Our Glossary Feature)
Dim sum is a type of Chinese brunch that includes a variety of snack-style dishes, including pastries, meats, and vegetables, as well as plenty of tea. Dim sum often includes authentic Chinese foods that diners used to Chinese-American cuisine might not be accustomed to. Carts are typically used to bring food to diners, though not all restaurants use the cart system anymore. Dim sum houses can be huge, with some places accommodating hundreds of people at a given time.
