The new First House Pub in Winchester center. Great new spot.

Aaron G.
I tried out the Jack's Abby Beer Hall & Kitchen on Friday, and it's a huge upgrade to the dining options in that area. The beers are excellent, and I liked the limited sampling I had of the food items. On Saturday, I had Portuguese seafood at Sagres, which finally reopened after being destroyed by a fire in July 2013, along with stops at Westport Rivers Winery and Buzzards Bay Brewing. I ran into Tatsu Ikeda at the Fried Chicken & Burger Pop Up at Roxy's on Sunday. I just grabbed a late lunch at MDM Noodles.

Kathy H. N.
Nobo in Chelmsford for lunch. Yum!
Also had lunch at Muddy Waters in Methuen. Very unassuming on the outside, but great food, drinks, and service!! They have live music on the weekends; would love to go back.

Richard A.
Liquid Art House for a superb lamb lunch & butcher demo. Very nice lunch at Harvest. Excellent steak dinner at Pellana.

Patrick S.
Branch Line Watertown night #2. Nice staff crazy busy post work by Athena people and I mean crazy which is good for all. Baked oysters delicious but 3 to an order - should be at Least 4. 1/2 chicken also delicious ad was the steak. Will go back.....very attractive place. They say year round "outdoor type dining" we'll see I hope so

Theresa M. L.
Had a delicious margarita pizza at the new restaurant in Medford "Taste of Italy"

Geoff W.
Muqueca in Inman Square. Fantastic meal!

Janet W.
Cafe polonia

Kelley K.
I grabbed a glass of wine at Branch Line & have not stopped thinking about how soon I can get back and try the porchetta. And the chicken. And rotisserie potatoes. Salted avocado. Smashed cucumbers....

Dori W.
Beat Brasserie...disappointed in the tuna springroll, my longstanding favorite from back in the Pho Republique days, but so in love with the fluke ceviche, bright and fresh with the perfect jalapeno kick

Paul B.
Cafe Polonia in Dorchester for excellent Pickle soup and my favorite Gypsy Pancake. And Rhythm Cafe in Merrimac excellent food and drinks.

Jennifer C.
I tried Select Boston which was super fresh and very yummy! And of course Blackbird Doughnuts!

Jeff L.
Whole Heart Provisions in Allston. Small spot in the old Root location serving hearty, healthy bowls with fresh ingredients. The falafel dog is outstanding.

Carol Y.
We had great appetizers and wine at the Onyx Hotel. Then dinner at Massimino's in the North End which was kind of a disappointment....

Beckie H.
Spectacular view and succulent baked stuffed lobster at The Boat House in Tiverton

Marsha B.
As it turned out, Fri. Sat. & Sun. nights at Mai Pearl, Foxboro (a first..)! Take out Fri. night, and the rest of the weekend speaks to the lack of great dining in the area when you're too tired/too hungry to travel. Superlative sushi, as always, and the Chinese food is excellent as well. Any places around Sharon, Foxboro, Canton, Stoughton, Norwood, etc.? Caffe Bella is a standby by but still 25 minutes.
Steel and Rye in Milton - phenomenal!
We went to Townshend and loved it - especially the gnocchi appetizer with truffles!

Dawn C. A.
Annual trip to Horseshoe Pub in Hudson for their Oktoberfest menu. The pork osso buco is excellent as are the little fried corned beef and sauerkraut balls.

Frank C.
Bastille Kitchen for my daughters 20th. The tea smoked mussel soup one of the most intense flavor explosions I've ever experienced. Still truly memorable after the third visit. Short rib Wellington also delicious.

Susan H.
Alba in Quincy...beautiful with excellent food, and Hojoko...hottest new place in town,Seaport Hotel Bakery/Cafe...hot soup on a cold day was great.

Jane V.
Connell pub in framingham. Good bar food!

It was a relatively quiet weekend as we hosted my in-laws and ushered them to Black Falcon Cruise Terminal. We had drinks at The Hawthorne followed by dinner at Eastern Standard on Thursday and saw them off after dim sum at Hei La Moon on Saturday.

Marie N.
Storrowton Tavern in W. Springfield

Kristen N.
Had very tasty fish tacos at La Victoria Taqueria in Beverly (chips and guac were good too) and also hit up Barrelhouse. IMHO, Sean Maher is the best bartender on the North Shore.

Jen P. P.
We tried 2 Jerks BBQ in Raynham. Really good BBQ for the area, since there isn't much south of Boston. The winner of the night was an app they had - tater tots topped with pulled pork, gravy, and cheese. A heart attack on a plate, but well worth it!

Annabelle B.
The family went to Ipswich Custom last Thursday night for some really delicious food. They need to iron out a few service issues, but the food was terrific.

Herb C.
Six of us ate at Spiga in Needham and each person was very positive about their dish! The food was wonderful, the ambience was very comfortablel, and it was a very positive dining experience.

Walter N.
We dined at Franks Steakhouse. Was impressed with large-menu offerrings and quality of food and value. Best potato skins I've had this year..potato boats, indeed! Interestingly, Food Network will be filming there Nov 8 and Nov 9 and free lunch is being offered to those who attend...and you might even be interviewed to comment on your dining experience..

Jeff L.
All Star Pizza Bar in Cambridge. Tasty yet pricey pizza.

Courtney R. R.
Max Burger in Longmeadow; awesome little joint

Richard A.
I made 3 visits to Ciao Pizza & Pasta in Chelsea. Fantastic place (and I;m reviewing it tomorrow). Had a delightful Greek wine dinner at Bisq in Inman Square. Amazing lamb. Excellent lunch once again at Osteria Nino.

Lyndon F.
Shake shack wow !

Marian F.
Went to Frank's Steakhouse in Cambridge. I used to go there a lot in the nineties when I lived nearby but hadn't been there since. It was very good. Had some nice pan-seared salmon, which was a special. I found the rice to be pretty tasty too! And the milky way martinis--delicious, chocolatey, what's not to love!

Frank C.
Lincoln Tavern in Southie. Great gastropub food but noise at aircraft engine levels for us older dudes even at tables by window.

Cara P.
Went old school at DeMaino's in Revere. Always delicious!

Holly O.
Joe Sent Me, Chang Sho, Summer Shack - all Cambridge

Ivan G.
Couleur Saveur, Haitian Restaurant in Stoughton, delicious home made Haitian food. super fresh, with the right spices, taste, everything. Reminded me of being in Haiti.

We had take-out from Bamboo Thai Restaurant on Thursday. Friday started with a quick stop at Sweet Cheeks before first-time visits to Hojoko and The Hawthorne. Saturday began with first-time visits to Banyan Bar and Refuge and Picco before spending late-night at Boston Chops. Sunday started with disappointment (Taqueria el Amigo is closed on Sundays) before giving way to Craigie on Main's Chef's Whim menu. We finished the weekend with lunch at Select Oyster Bar.

Caroline P. D.
Longfellow's Wayside Inn

Steven L.
Keltic Kitchen in Yarmouth. Good menu, large portions, and best service I have had in a restaurant in a long time. I had heard the corned beef hash was good (and it was), though the eggs and wild boar sausage special was a huge temptation.

Boston Dan
Angela's in East Boston

Kristine N.
Was in the Finger Lakes for a wedding, and one night went to Veraisons at the Glenora Winery for dinner. Kick ass braised short ribs.

Julie K.
We spend the whole weekend at YMCA Becket, Ma., wonderful atmosphere, nice weather, yummy food (3 meals a day) - everything for the same price!!!

Sachiko M.
bisq in Inman, and Hojoko with the sake maker Todd Bellomy... his sake is launching soon! Six more weeks or so! First in kegs, then bottles. Available at CBC restaurants, I believe...

Rich O.
Went to John Brewers in Malden. Food was good, company was weak

Patrick M.
Sometimes ya just need a burga. The new Wahlburger's is within walking distance, so I gave it a shot. Very genuine, attentive, organized hospitality. "When in Rome," I got the "Our Burger." Meat wasn't very flavorful, and a bit on the dry side, house sause was ok. Fries weren't hot enough, but not cold enough to ask for replacements, and they were just ok. Using a fast-casual chain for comparison, not as good as Shake Shack, and more expensive.

Richard A.
Sorellina (great tuna tartare, fettucine with mushrooms), Sarma (tons of fantastic food, lamb meatball sliders were amazing)

Cara C. H.
Denly Gardens in Weymouth for pizza. Whoa.

Walter N.
Abbey Lane in Boston..ambitious menu served up dissappointedly understated-flavors and execution fell short to deliver what could have been...

Theresa M. L.
Yet again we went to Colliseum in Salem NH and had the chicken Francese! Delicious..

Kimberly A.
Cask & Kiln, Pizzapalooza - both in Wilmington, VT

Victor C.
Two in Gloucester: One is an old favorite, Charlie's Place (hearty breakfast near Good Harbor), and the other is a new favorite, Passports.

Warren S.
Amuleto in Waltham and Yvonne's Supper Club.

Marsha B.
Dumpling Daughter in Weston; very friendly staff; counter ordering & order delivered to table. Great food!
Also Picco; fabulous as always!

Jimmy C.
Hojoku and sweet cheeks q Saturday night before and after seeing illuminus at Fenway.

John O.
Good old hearts turkey farm

Connie W.
Friday night - Giulia in Cambridge - nice vibe; fab food - prosciutto di Parma w/pear; bucatini w/ house-cured pancetta: pistachio gelato served over marinated cherries - to die for. Cons: waitperson a tad officious but nonetheless forgot our sfizzi ( whatzi) of chicken liver mouse.
Saturday Night - Yvonne's - newly ensconced in the old Locke Ober space and working their supper club concept. Very chichi and fun. Started with a Ward 8 (when in LO....) did assorted small plates and one of the "Feasts" the ribeye...terrific. Desserts are AMAZING - can't go wrong with a drumstick stuffed with chocolate covered negroni gelato.

Holly O.
Orleans in Davis, Cambridge Common, Red Bones in Davis

John C.
due to an office move, we wandered into hillstone at the west end of fanueil hall, split a burger with a coworker at the bar - wouldn't change a thing - and our bartender and server were perfect

It's not a restaurant, but I had my first MRE out in the woods of Hudson on Friday. On Sunday, we made our first visit to Whole Heart Provisions, we stopped for post-theater drinks at Viale, and we finished the night at Craigie on Main.

Diane M. C.

Charles S.
La vita mia in saugus

Holly H.
The Frogmore in JP! Beautiful space and wonderful food!

Il Casale in Lexington, Baldwin Bar at Sichuan Garden II, Greek Corner. The clear standout was the Baldwin Bar. Drinks were out of this world and the food is sublime. Just an overall outstanding and memorable experience.

John C.
frogmore in jp for tastey low-country eats and yvonne's in downtown crossing for hypnotic ambience and custom beverages

Alison S. D.
Sugo on Mass Ave. in Arlington. Little Italian spot, brand new -- wonderful pasta sauces, excellent soup, and garlic knots so good they should be patented.

Carol Y.
We did two Outer Cape classics: Lobster Pot (upstairs at the bar with Cassie) and PJ's. Warm seafood on cold nights. Ahhh.....

Jen P. P.
East Coast Grill for dinner...first time there NOT for brunch. BBQ was pretty good, and big portions.

Marian F.
Went to Abby Lane in the Theatre District before going to a concert at the Wilbur. Both of us found most of the food to be nondescript.

Osteria Nino for some excellent Cacio E Pepe and a tasty Meatball Sub.

Jen P. P.
Bavaria German Restaurant in Hooksett, NH. Authentic German food...an overload of sausages, spatzle, blaukraut, and one of the best leek soups I have ever had. The staff was warm and friendly, and we met some awesome German locals eating there who gave us some great menu recommendations.

Boothbay Lobster!

Marian F.
Stayed local and went to the Deluxe Town Diner in Watetown. I love their Harvest Salad with maple dressing.

Jimmy C.
Cinqucento Friday night. The grilled octopus was very well prepared.

Donna P. P.
I went to Sal's Pizza across the street from Fenway on Saturday. All the big bars were full up and this lonely looking single story pizza place was the only place without a line. We had a slice of buffalo chicken pizza and spinach, banana pepper along with a pitcher of Sam Adams Oktoberfest. The pizza was thick and delicious. Wish we could've eaten alot more and tried out more of their incredible variety. We were lucky enough to get a table which we shared with a cute young couple. Not so crowded that you felt uncomfortable but not a vacant seat in the house.
It was a great place to enjoy a really good slice or two and a Sam Adams, not a party experience but just what we wanted.

Anne L. M. B.
I went to a bridal shower at L'Andana in Burlington.... the food was superb. Looking forward to go back for the filet Mignon!

Frank C.
Coppersmith in Southie... mediocre....half the beer and wine list unavailable...No cocktail list...major disconnect on timing between the real kitchen and the (inside) food truck kitchen. Bring a cushion as the picnic table stools are deadly during a long wait. May be just getting the bugs worked out.

JP Seafood in JP during open studios! Didn't break the bank and had good sized portions! Did not leave hungry!

James S.
Flame, the new Chinese hot pot restaurant near Harvard. I went for a quick lunch so no hot pot. Very nice double-cooked pork & spicy cold Szechuan noodles. About that Chinese hot tea for $1, though...

And the Highland Kitchen in Somerville where I had pan roasted boneless half chicken with sweet potato hash, broccolini and herb gravy. All of it was excellent, delicious!

I had takeout from BonChon in Allston sandwiched between first-time visits to Live Noodles in Allston and Santouka Ramen in Harvard Square. Is Korean fried chicken sandwiched between noodles going to become a "thing?"

Kristen N.
Gadaletos Seafood in New Paltz, the cafe on the roof of the Met (surprisingly good) Molloys Bar in Hells Kitchen and the Gluten Free Cafe in Chatham NY.

Gigi S.

Anju in Kittery, ME. It was amazing as usual.

Victor C.
Deluxe Town Diner in Watertown. Hadn't been in years, still very good. Plus, the staff were extra-helpful with 15-month-old member of our party.
Late addition--Acapulco's in Sudbury. Steak fajita chimichangas, excellent fresh guacamole, and of course, Margaritas (we had the house special, but you can customize from a long list of tequila brands). (Acapluco's is a 9/11 tradition. My wife used to go there with her best friend Cora, who was a passenger on Flight 11.)

Kristen N.
Tried Bambolina, the new wood-fired pizza place in Salem. I had the polenta with mushrooms, greens, pancetta, and a soft egg - SO good. My companions really enjoyed the pizza. (pic to follow)
The Beef and Blue pizza at Bambolina - with steak, blue cheese and caramelized mini onions was a big hit. They cook the pizza at 900 degrees for like 2 minutes. The consensus is that the crust is great hot out of the oven, but isn't great cold. Better consumed immediately. The chef/owner is a super nice guy and told us all about his oven.

Susan H.
BonaPita downtown - truly excellent - marvelous pita bread, sandwiches and entrees - and Coppersmith opening event in Southie.

Redbone Somerville and I have a yummy pull pork sandwich, but I noticed something that I did not like. The food still good - but the place start looking filthy and every 2 minutes the waitress was in your table rushing you - I could not even finish my yummy pecan pie!

Cameron L.
Greek Festival in Somerville ... best gyro I've had in any memories I've had. I would have ordered the lamb shank dinner but had spoiled my appetite at an earlier gathering.

Not a restaurant, but we went to the Greek Festival in Braintree on Sunday. The food there is SO good - we make it a point to go every year!

Jimmy C.
Went to super fusion in Watertown square. They carry toro (tuna belly) regularly and make creative rolls from it. In Sashimi form it looks like and is almost as buttery as Kobe beef. I highly recommend checking it out if you are a fan of good quality tuna.

On Saturday, we had pizza from Sabatino's in Brighton because our kitchen was overrun with tomatoes, peaches, pears, and plums for a seasonal canning operation. On Sunday, we (or I) literally had three meals at Sichuan Garden II, partially accompanied by the best mint julep I've ever had. On Monday, we returned to Pho So 1 in Dorchester after a quick hike up Buck Hill.

Virginia R.
Amrheins in Southie on Friday night was outstanding! Used Groupon and felt guilty because it was soooo good!!
Also, surprisingly, the clam chowder at the JFK Library was exceptional and eating outside gave a beautiful view of the Harbor. El Potro in Somerville is always a great place to for Mexican.

Kristen N.
Mezze in Williamstown was quite good. Both the octopus and the hangar steak were excellent, and the house made chocolate ice cream divine. Took your reccs for Peoples Pint in Greenfield and Alvah Stone at the Montague Book Mill. The Pint was good, but didnt find it outstanding. The burger at Alvah was among the best I have eaten, and my partner in crime enjoyed the house made roast beef and the Red Flag Marzen from Fort Hill Brewery. And of course, the view sitting on the deck over the river is the icing on the cake.

Diego M. T.
