We had takeout from Bamboo Thai Restaurant because we were getting a new refrigerator delivered. We went to Pho So 1 on our way down to Westport Rivers Winery and Buzzards Bay Brewing on Saturday. We brunched at Catalyst before a visit to the MIT Museum on Sunday.
Barcelona Brookline. Very good tapas.
Dumpling Palace (outstanding dumplings!), Loyal 9 and Pier 6
Firenze Trattoria Lynde st Salem, Ma
Cara C. H.
I was in PTown. Went to Victors, Station 186 (twice) for the best burgers EVAH, and Spiritus Pizza. All great.
Select Oyster dining at the bar and Dumpling Palace delivery.
Strip-T's - very disappointing. Had a great meal there a couple years ago, but this time not so much. Flavors in almost everything were too concentrated - like the sauces had been over reduced. The house-made chips were great, though.
Olivadi in Norwood - good not great but will try again. Ashmont Grill. For late brunch - very good burger and a great stinger!
The Red House in Harvard Square--excellent!
Cask & Kiln - Wilmington, VT
Central Provisions-Excellent. Tandem- Great coffee, sandwiches and baked goods. Eventide-outstanding as usual. Holy Donuts- not really digging the texture of potato donuts, all in Portland Me. Palace Diner, oh Palace Diner I love u, Biddeford Me.

I was in Rockport and went to My Place by the Sea (had a tasty seafood quesadilla) and Roy Moore's Fish Shack (had the mussels which were great). Last night I went to Gaslight and got the corn ravioli, but the creme brulee was really the star of the night for me.
Toro for lunch; always wonderful, Sheperds was also wonderful, Il Capriccios, Oishi CH, Weekend in Atlanta ha
Went to the Painted Burro on Friday. Liked it so much that we went back Sunday night. Great food and drinks but Very loud.

We went to Strip T's for lunch on Saturday, Viale for brunch on Sunday, and Morano Gelato just because.
Select Oyster for our end of the week celebration and take out from Dosa Factory so we didn't have to cook on Saturday.
I had a pastrami sandwich from the place in the Boston Public Market. There were no tables available so I ate it on the windowsill of the market while tourists watched me through the glass. Feeding time at the zoo. It was legit the best pastrami sandwich I have ever had. It had better be for $17.
ALSO I had the trout at The Dulx in the South End. The food that comes out of that tiny little kitchen is always so good.
Orleans in Davis
The new Lone Star Taco Bar in Cambridge. Stellar addition to the neighborhood!
Jen P. P.
Not a restaurant, but we checked out Sam's Bakery, a Lebanese bakery in Fall River. They are famous for their meat pies. The bread they use is delicious, like a pita, soft and warm and the kind you wished you could get everywhere. My husband loves this place and has been wanting to take me there to try their meat pies. Unfortunately I didn't love the fillings. We tried chourico, broccoli and cheese, cabbage, meat, and spinach. They all have a vinegar like taste to them in the fillings, and it just didn't agree with my palette. It was too bad (for me) because this place was packed and has been around for over 50 years.
Silver Lounge North Falmouth. Ever been? a lot of silver hair there. But good old school steak and lobster.
Kathleen O. S.
Up in Vermont for a wedding so we checked out Worthy Burger in South Royalton; great beers on tap, great burgers and great fries.
Went cheap this week. Jade garden, new golden gate, wai wai bbq, Jimmy's steer house in Arlington, Mike's in Davis sq.
TAMO, Drink, Barking Crab and Union Oyster House
Galleria Umberto and Morano Gelato (they has riso/rice flavor!!!) on Friday, British Beer Co. in Hyannis and Cathay Center in Winthrop (it's a long story...) on Saturday, and Pho Viet's for banh mi on Sunday.
I have to admit I was kind of surprised at how tasty I found the dishes we got at Cathay Center, where we stopped mostly to get out of the thunderstorms driving back from the cape. As much as I appreciate the wide variety of traditional Chinese restaurants we're getting around the city (especially in our neighborhood), I do have a certain nostalgic fondness for old-school Chinese-American when it's done right. I wouldn't, like, drive to Quincy for it, but I was glad it was there.
Lumiere, Sarma, Barcelona Bkl, B&G Oyster, Oxford Creamery Mattapoisett for the best lobster rolls!!, Not Your Average
Joes Randolph, OK, we like the one in Dartmouth much better.
Suzanne L. L.
We went to Painted Burro in Davis Sq. which is always fun and pretty good. Then we tried out the new The Abbey location in Cambridge - it was very good. Excellent beer and cocktail list, wine list looked pretty good too. The food we had was delicious. The staff was very friendly and it was a nice, comfortable place to go. We'll be back.
Southside Tavern in Braintree. Awesome place. Burgers were amazing, very attentive staff and very reasonably priced.
Kathy H. N.
The Black Cat in Hyannis. We had clam chowder, scallops wrapped in bacon, and burgers - all were delicious!! Service was great also!
Great Italian restaurant in West Yarmouth, Four Seasons Trattoria. Had an incredible Cioppino with home-made fettuccini!
Hojoko. Tremendous menu. I had the charcoaled romain rolls w/fried clams, caesar dressing, bonito, croutons and the Black miso cod. Both excellent.
Coach Grill, Wayland, and Myers & Chang.

We had a day of indulgence in Portland, ME: Schulte & Herr for a German brunch (potato pancakes, belgian waffle, bratwurst with sauerkraut & german potato salad, & spatzle), Beers and snacks at Novare Res Bier Cafe and Ri Ra Irish Pub, dinner at Fore Street (Oysters, Pork Belly, Lobster, Chicken, and the boys split a 34 oz heavily marbled grass fed ribeye - which was the winner of the night. Butterscotch creme brule and vanilla lemon blackberry tart for dessert).
B.T.'s Smokehouse ... very good smile emoticon , then on to Tree House Brewing in Monson (again, very good) and then an excellent hike at Peaked Mountain in Monson

Have you tried Papagayo on route 1 in Saugus? I went there expecting another run of the mill Mexican joint & was pleasantly surprised. The meals were authentic, the decor bright and modern and the service wonderful. My new favorite restaurant!
Select Oyster Bar for lunch on Friday and Luke's Lobster over the weeknd.
Deanna D. M.
The Black Whale in New Bedford. We sat at the bar, the drinks were decent, the apps were outstanding and the fish fresh.

Tried Townsman for the first time. Will definitely go back again. Probably some of the best smoked bluefish pate I have had.
KO's in East Boston
Annisa in the West Village. Wonderful grilled bluefish wrapped in grape leaves. And wanted to try to replicate. found their recipe online. Really appreciate that !

Baba Louies in Great Barrington. They say it's sour dough pizza but I hate sour dough and I couldn't tell. It was fantastic. Also, across the street, Gypsy Joynt. Only had drinks there but a fun place that you can bring the family and sneak in some brews. Very unique.
We hit up the Makin' Jamaican and Taste of Anatolia food trucks after a Ferris wheel ride at Revere Beach today. My jerk wings were great, but my wife's mixed platter from Taste of Anatolia was out of this world delish!
Bricco tonight. It's been awhile and the place is looking a bit run down. The food was still good, but not up to the price point anymore. We felt like we were being rushed by the waiter. It used to be my favorite! What happened? The bathroom door didn't lock. Basic stuff.
Vee vee Saturday night. That is always top notch! Loved it!
Cara C. H.
Naco Taco in Central Square
The 99 in Stoneham. It was unexpectedly mediocre.
We've been to too many places in Philadelphia, Gettysburg, and Ithaca to name, but dinners at Vernick and Serpico were too great to not name.
L'impasto - disappointing
Giulia, Sarma, Sofra, Liniage, Farmstead Kitchen, Lumiere, Row 34
Villa Roma in W. Harwich. Great old-school Italian joint.
Rosettis East Boston. Great place.
The Painted Burro in Davis Square. Hectic Friday night, so loud, slow, crowded 5 into table for 4 despite a reservation, but their food is delicious! Adore their Cholo street corn.
Tasting Counter: freaking awesome! Osteria Nino, excellent Cacio e Pepe & a Meatball Sandwich. Margarita's: Surprisingly tasty & good margaritas.
Moody's Back Room - great charcuterie and small plates.
Village cafe in Newton. Had some awesome banana pancakes.
Theloneious Monkfish. Wow was the sushi good. Going back this Saturday for a friend's birthday and can't wait to try the many things my stomach didn't have room for last time!

Marguerite's in Westport. Best simple, creative food for the money you can get anywhere, in a homey setting with friendly service.
Impromptu dinner at Bronwyn on Friday, excellent as always, and lunch (unexpectedly good chicken pot pie, although I've never encountered one that got hotted up on the grill before!) plus ice cream sodas at Cabot's on Sunday.
Ferry St. in Malden and J&M Diner in Framingham!
Belle Isle Seafood for lobster rolls and Artichokes for outstanding Italian.
AreaFour Somerville. One man two pies!
The Butcher Shop, Toro, Strip T's, Farmstead Table, Sarma, Barcelona Brookline, Lineage
Max and Leo's (twice this week) new golden gate, strip t's, chicken and rice guys, bahn mi, fiorellas.
White Mountain Cider Company in Glen, NH outside North Conway. Amazing - really a perfect meal with a terrific cocktail and excellent service. Moat Mountain in North Conway was fun for lunch.
Clam Box in Ipswich. Good, but when I stand in line for that long, I'd like to see any sort of hustle in the kitchen. And have a way to get an item I forgot to purchase without having to stand in line again.
Summer Shack Cambridge. Underwhelming they need to step it up to seriously compete with Legal.
Waaay out of town but ... Dolphin in Harpswell had awesome chowder (thin broth with clams and fish, and perfect chowder potatoes ... very old-school) and super sweet fried clams. Also, they sometimes say "you cant eat atmosphere" when talking about restaurants, but the view alone was worth it! In addition to that, we had a really nice breakfast at the Winnegance General Store in South Bath. Nice location and ambiance, and good food too.
Sichuan Garden II in Woburn. Great drinks with spicy food.
Jennifer K. D.
The Knack in Orleans; an old DQ that underwent a very cool renovation but is still a roadside takeout place. Fish tacos were good; hand-cut fries great.
Legal on Mystic. Fresh oysters on the half shell were fantastic.
Java Jack's in Rocky Harbor outside Gros Morne National Park, Newfoundland. Lunch view.
Belle Isle Seafood. Fabulous !
We went to Lineage, twice in one night. Then, we hit the road, in part to avoid going back to Lineage (because going three times in one night would just be ridiculous). We stopped at Hometown Bar-B-Que in Brooklyn on our way to Philadelphia. So far in Philadelphia: Le Virtu, Menagerie, Morimoto, Abe Fisher, and Townsend.

It was a slow weekend. We made a stop at Tavern Road following an airport pick-up on Saturday and had dinner with my parents at Jade Garden on Sunday.

BEAT HOTEL...very good steak frites...nice space...$$$...
La Victoria in Beverly. Best Mexican street food!
Blue dragon, Bastille kitchen, grotto, il Casile, shojo, legals on mystic, the Kwao Palace.
Dorado in Brookline, not impressed even though I seem to hear generally positive stuff about them. Visited Hampton Beach and Salisbury Beach so I got to Cristy's Beach Pizza and Boardwalk Inn & Cafe, both of which I loved.
City Girls - Cambridge and Fusion Taste Stoneham
The Red House. Good but a bit overpriced. I'd rather go to L'Impasto, I think. Although all those lobster dishes at RH are enticing.
Caroline P. D.
Rowes Wharf Sea Grille - a bit pricey but great food, good for a special treat. Great waterfront location and views.
Lineage, Island Creek Oyster Bar, Shepards, La Voile, Toro, Barcelona Bkl take in, Stephanie's on Newbury for brunch--probably not a return visit, Legal Seafood Copley Place--lunch.
Rosettis on Winthrop Beach (BYOB) a hidden gem.
Joyce G. R.
Seoul on Cambridge Street on the backside of Beacon Hill. Pretty good, and I've struggled to find Korean food that I enjoy. Korean short ribs are usually a-okay and I found these to be delightful!

Moat Mountain Smokehouse and Brewery, North Conway
Belle Isle Seafood in Winthrop - their lobster pie! And there's a new Italian bakery/coffeehouse next door - Adriana's Pastry & Cafe. Nothing like a fresh canoli!
